Learning is a Lifelong Adventure
Your entire life is a learning experience.
Whenever someone asks me, “what’s Leadogo’s learning philosophy?”
That’s it. Life is a learning experience. And if you let it, that learning will go on forever.
There isn’t a magic formula. Learning happens in every instance, at every turn, no matter the situation. You simply have to give it intention and attention to get something from it.
And when you think you’ve gotten everything from it, think again. Look again. Lean in again. Talk about it again. Review. Reflect. Learn more.
Our Stories Have No Limits
Just the other day, I intentionally asked Parul Banka - one of our amazing Lift As We Climb mentors - her philosophy on learning from what we experience. Specifically, does she believe that we can continue to learn from what we experience long after it’s over? Parul, by chosen trade, is a story coach. She works specifically with coaches to sign new clients by building trust and connection through stories. Their stories. Their experiences. Their lives.
Her response?
Absolutely! Our stories are like never ending jigsaw puzzles. The more we continue to talk about and reflect on what happens to us, the bigger our puzzles grow in breadth and depth. Unlike a standard jigsaw puzzle that has finite pieces with a specific output, our stories continue to evolve as we do.
That Makes Total Sense
We can continue to take from what happens to us as more happens to us. The meaning of our stories can shift as we experience more. They can take on more meaning or we can actually remove meaning if doing either serves us.
And what’s more? Those who experience our stories can learn as well. Anyone who hears or watches our stories play out, can use those insights and takeaways to add to their own learning.
Enter Leadogo
This is what Leadogo is all about. It’s a platform. It’s a community. It’s a movement built around the experiences each one of us has had and what it means not only to us, but what it could also mean to others if we shared them.
Learning doesn’t have to take place in a classroom - virtual or actual. Learning doesn’t have to be formal. In fact, if we all scanned our greatest learning moments, we’d find they were unplanned. They happened when we least expected them, but the impact was felt immediately and continues on as we add more experiences to our lives.
Learning is life. Life is learning.
So what’s the most recent learning experience you had? What did you take away from it? How did it change you? How do you continue learning from it? What puzzle pieces did it add to your life masterpiece?
What would it look like to join a learning community and movement to share your experience and support others in adding to their masterpieces?
